During Spring break this year, we will take twenty-five (25) middle-schoolers, each accompanied by his/her respective parent, by a chartered bus to Washington, D.C. The group will have a tour of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture, Washington, D.C., and a meet and greet with Civil Rights leaders. This will be an overnight trip, scheduled to leave on Tuesday, February 20th at 9 a.m., and return on Wednesday, February 21st at 9 p.m.

This educational trip will focus on (a) African American contributions to American society and culture; and (b) the history of the  civil rights movement, and on the travails of those who sacrificed so much in order to lay the path for us, and on the legendary figures in that struggle.  The educational experience will be enhanced by a tour of the Museum in small groups, and topped off with a meeting with contemporary civil rights leaders in the nation’s capital.  In the process, the trip will provide a welcome opportunity for enhanced parent-child bonding.

Every parent with a child in middle-school is welcome to join this trip with that child.  We particularly encourage non-custodial parents to avail of this opportunity to join this group with their middle-school child.  Only ONE parent is permitted to travel with ONE child.

We will provide transportation by a chartered bus to and from from a designated spot in Yonkers, New York to Washington, D.C., the "meet and greet" dinner with civil rights leaders on February 20, hotel for the overnight stay for Feb 20-21 (including breakfast on 21st, and group guided tours of the Museum.

If you desire to join this Trip, you should register yourself FIRST.  You will get the application related materials promptly, and no later than the second day.  DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS JAN 31, 2024.  FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED.
